Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 1-4PM

On display at Doris McCarthy Gallery Vitrines
April 20 – June 4, 2017

OFF-CANVAS aims to provide youth with the opportunity to work in parallel with an emerging artist, learning new skills and gaining an understanding of what it means to be a professional artist. Participants work collaboratively towards the creation and exhibition of their work, learning new techniques, how to develop a body of work, and the process of preparing for an exhibition. This year’s youth residency is led by artist facilitator Timothy Yanick Hunter.

The residency runs February 25 to April 1, 2017, with an exhibition taking place at Y+ contemporary on Saturday, April 1 from 1-4PM. Additionally, the youth residents will be exhibiting their work at the Doris McCarthy Gallery vitrines in the spring, with a reception on Saturday, May 13, from 12-2PM.

THE RESIDENTS:
